Welcome!
The purpose of this website is to provide information and tools to help advance commercial development of nontimber forest products (NTFP) on non-industrial private lands lands in the United States.  For the purposes of this website NTFPs are defined as all wild, wild-simulated, and cultivated native forest vegetation other than industrial timber.  Read our FAQ for a more  complete definition or peruse the NTFP Species Database or Photo Gallery for examples.

You can help by activiely posting copyright free materials in the Discussion Forum.  The public will be able to find your posted material through Internet search engines and we will periodically copy selected posts to the static pages on our website.  The NTFP Information Exchange is hosted by the Institute for Culture and Ecology (IFCAE).  IFCAE is a nonprofit (501c3), nonpartisan, applied research and education organization.

All the information and resources found in the NTFP Information Exchange are free, uncopyrighted, in the public domain, or we have been granted permission to share them publically.  All materials may may be used for commercial or non-commercial purposes without permission.  For text borrowed from most published resources the publisher generally requires a citiation.  The Chicago Manual of Style is one of hundreds of recognized citation styles you could use.
